  Hong Kong, March 11, 2008 – Rotary International District 3450 (Hong Kong, Macao and Mongolia) announces today “Rotary Vitarobics” has become one of the 100th day countdown events to the Beijing Olympics. The main event will be held at Sha Tin Sports Ground, while everybody in Hong Kong are also encouraged to dance Rotary Vitarobics Dance anytime and anywhere on Apr 30, 2008  
     
  Rotary Vitarobics is fully supported by numerous organizations such as the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, Education Bureau, HKSAR and The Physical Fitness Association of Hong Kong, China, etc. Aimed to promote health and physical fitness in Hong Kong, students and the general public in Hong Kong are all welcome to be involved in the event.  
     
  Tony K. L. Yue, MH, Vice-President of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China said, “Rotary Vitarobics welcomes everyone to be involved. Not only does it allow more people to further understand the philosophy of the Olympics, but also strengthen the harmony and social cohesion In Hong Kong. We strongly commend Rotary’s initiatives to organize such a meaningful territory-wide event to welcome Beijing Olympics.”  
   
  It is estimated that the Rotary Vitarobics has already reached 500,000 people in Hong Kong. The organizer receives positive feedback from the community since the event has been launched in last November. On top of schools, many different organizations are also planning to organize group dances on April 30, 2008.  
   
  In addition to a series of student workshops being organized for students from various schools, the recently announced arrangement encouraging all participants to do the Rotary Vitarobics Dance anytime and anywhere on April 30, 2008, the 100th day countdown to the Beijing Olympics has also boosted the number of enrolment significantly. As a result, over 200 hundred of secondary schools, primary schools and kindergartens have already enrolled for the event up to now.  
 
  “We are pleased with such enthusiastic support from our community. Participants from wide range of age groups prove that the event very well received. With collaboration of all supporting and participating organizations, we hope the concept of ‘cultivating healthy lifestyle and having a harmonious society’ can extend from schools to families and eventually extend to all sectors of our community. ” said Peter S. H. Wong, District Governor of the Rotary International District 3450.  
 
  Rotary Vitarobics Dance Fits Everyone  
 
 
  “Rotary Vitarobics Dance” is a 4-min Rhythm Dance and composed of 9 specific forms of movement which are transited with some simple dancing steps and moves. It is also a kind of low-intensity Aerobic exercises which is believed to be benefitical to people of different age, phenotypes and fitness levels. It is designed and verified by The Physical Fitness Association of Hong Kong, China. It has been incorporated into a piece of music specially written by Mahmood Lam Mo Tek, a Rotarian and famous composer in Hong Kong, together with young composer Clinton Yau. Participants can enjoy the lively music while doing the Dance.  
     
  Peter K. T. Wan, Chairman of Rotary Vitarobics Committee, Past District Governor, said, “Rotary Vitarobics Dance is a low-intensity aerobic exercise that fits everyone. Hence, we encourage all students and members of the public to be involved on April 30, 2008.”
